Darkness was falling hesitantly over the black and jagged cliffs that made up the horizon of the landscape .. the sun had fallen beneath them only about an hour before. In the seemingly silent atmosphere of this place could be heard but one shimmering sound of metal against metal, scraping and banging softly. A hybrid wolf stood atop the cliffs, his head and ears raised, his gray-brown coat matted and dusty and the chain about his neck showing slight signs of rust. Flag curled about his hind pillar before taking up position behind him, it's white underside the only sign of motion .. his silvery pillars, face and belly were still. The moon rose from beyond the opposing horizon where he could see it gently lifting into the sky. Mist enclosed the ground below the cliffs and clung to their surfaces as it tried to climb them. Without much thought the wolf raised his visage and allowed a long, low song to escape his maw...

Across from the darkened cliffs coming into the sea of mist that seemed to swirl about so ominously, a lonewolf's auds swiveled around to percieve a call. Beautiful... It had been a while since she'd heard a howl like to this, others seldom ever called upon her. The one wolf she had met before had died in front of her and, within the moment, been come across and eaten by a wild and ravenous brute. It had left her shaken and quite plagued by the thought. Is that what it's like around here..? She was new into the land, really. And already she had come across misfortune. The song she had heard still echoing in the fae's head she puzzled for a moment over what perhaps she should do. She needed someone to talk to, the experience before had shaken her so. She forced her will into instinct and answered it with her own melodic voice...

Auds pricked as well as they could from their already perceptive position as the call echoed deep within their caverns. His scent indicated in the direction which the brute thought to be it's point of origin. A fae's voice. His spine and muscles tensed slightly, wary of the stranger's message. Though being quite confident in that a lone fae couldn't do him much damage still he had not seen her before and could not see her now. But he knew that the sound had carried along the cliff walls and from a distance away from him. His ears fell no more than 1/2 inch and he shook his dust-lain ruff. For the heck of it he didn't see why he shouldn't speak with her, he was not aware of many others living in his terrain. The brute's flag curled about his haunches as he allowed himself to fall lightly before giving yet another answering howl...

Now curious, the fae tilted her cranium slightly and took a few hesitant steps. Her paws sunk little into the cold ground as the mist engulfed her pillars, occasionally finding her talons barely scored it. She stopped for a moment, only a pause before trotting silently forth into darkness and up toward where she assumed the brute was: the cliffs. She eased into a cantering gallop, a bit pup-ish for her but she was a bit pupish herself, if not always as wary as she should be. She skidded a bit as she came to the feet of the cliffs, looking upward into the dark sky to make a sort of yapping sound at it, letting the other know that she was there and asking him if she could come up. She question was still in her mind even if she payed no heed to it: was he hostile...?

The brute listened to her, getting amused now. His eyes shown in the moon's light as he collected her yap. She's a pup.. The fact that she had come nearer so soon showed that at least her mind must not be very mature, and he figured that she was probably but a bit lonely and looking for whatever adventure she could come across .. that or else with others who wanted to bombard him .. but there was no sign of that, no smells, no sense of others, no sounds of their pawsteps, no nearly silent gusts of their respiration. His long, curved muzzle pointed down at where she seemed to be as he barked to her softly, barely audible .. and began to descend...
